Welcome to our mini ZOO garden consisting of the permanent exhibition of New World monkeys, a ZOO spot in an adapted shed and outdoor attractions for children.
The inhabitants of the ZOO spot are domestic animals:

Entrance free is available every day from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The entrance to the New World monkeys exhibition is conditioned by a purchase of the handbills about our animals at the hospital reception.
We implore you for peaceful behaviour in front of the animal pens during the tour. Do not knock the glass and do not make rapid moves.
The entrance with a pet is banned.
We will be very glad for any contribution for our animals and we offer you a possibility to adopt an animal for one year. Your advert will be placed on the pens of the animal adopted by you.
We inform you that the whole hospital including the exhibition of monkeys is monitored and recorded 24 hours a day.
Our mini ZOO garden is a part of a veterinary hospital. It is the only facility in the Northern Moravia with 24-hour operation with a veterinarian.
Our ambulance car provides 24-hour emergency. The complex care about our clients includes accommodation of healthy animals at the time of your holiday etc. Pet styling parlour, pet shop with feed and treats for on-line prices for our customers and a webshop with feed, vitamines and minerals, cosmetics and treats for your pets.
Besides the veterinary practice, the owner of this hospital MVDr. Radomír Hynar has been engaged in a research and breeding of New World monkeys since 1991 and he specializes in the deseases of exotic apes. He is also an authorized expert in this branch.
All kinds of monkeys kept in our facility are classified in CITES I or CITES II because they come from tropical rainforests of Mesoamerica and South America and their living space is getting smaller.
It relates to deforestation in their habitat. MVDr. Radomír Hynar has made journeys to Peru and Bolivia regions. He watched, took photos and studied the behaviour and habits of these monkeys to use the information in breeding and saving these beautiful animals he keeps.
All the kept animals are filed at the Environmental Council and are subjected to a strict registration. They are marked with microchips and have registration forms. To preserve the gene resources we exchange animals with other breeders and ZOO gardens in and outside the Czech Republic.
All the species we keep are regularly bred and their offsprings are reared.
All our monkeys belong to a subfamily Callitrichidae.
Considering the origin of the animals, essential for breeding is
temperature (25°C at least) and high humidity (80% at least)
The monkeys live in family clans where parents and elder siblings bring up the younger ones and teach them to ingest and orientate.
The gestation period depends on the kind and it is about 6 months. They become able to mate in their 16 to 24 months of age and the lenght of life is 15-20 years.
The feed is crucial. It must be of a high quality and very varied. Fruit and vegetable, feeding insect (worms, crickets, locusts, cockroaches), porridge, rice milk, boiled meat, granules for cats, yogurt, popcorn, sponge biscuits and wholemeal pastry are the fundamental parts of their nutriton.
The supply of vitamines, minerals and a special diet for the New World monkeys is also very important.
The feed is served twice a day. The clear water is implied.
We would like you to get to know 9 kinds of monkeys we breed at present.
This collection of bred animals is not complete of course.
We plan to acquire more animals for breeding and to allow you, the visitors, to see the compact group of animals that are evolutionary so close to us.
We differ from them with only a few different chromosomes.
We also prepare a construction of a new pavilion in the hospital’s garden. It is meant to be a replica of the South American forrest dwelt not only with monkeys but also with other creatures of South America (birds, reptiles, fish, small mammals).
Thank you for your visit and we hope you visit us again soon.
